Credentialled Mental Health Nurse
A Credentialed Mental Health Nurse is a Division 1 nurse who is formally qualified in the area of Mental Health.Credentialing by the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN) recognises the qualifications, skills, expertise and experience of nurses who are practicing in this specialist field.
We work with clients who present with acute and/or chronic mental health symptoms and with those experiencing addictive behaviours. Velocity support services uses an evidence based perspective with a focus on education, relapse prevention and recovery. We adopts a holistic approach to client care providing:
- Initial assessment
- Risk assessment and management,
- Psychoeducation,
- Evidence Based Counselling(Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),
- Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Relaxation),
- Medication monitoring and administration including Depot injection medication,
- Family support and counselling
- Connection to appropriate support services
- Liaison with other health professionals
